Best Classic Sceneries Hidden in Shanghai Skyscrapers

Shanghai, this city is well known with its fast development and tall buildings in modern architectural. As example, Shanghai Tower is listed as one of the tallest building in the world (632 m). The 5th after Kingdom Tower - Jeddah, Sky City - Changsha, Burj Khalifa - Dubai, and Pingan International Finance Center - Shenzhen.
Although, behind those tall buildings around the city, there are some classic places are well maintained and still very attractive for many of visitors but not widely known nor oftenly 'promoted' for international tourists.

Qibao Ancient Water Town
If you are curious about watertown in China and doesn't want to move too far from city, Qibao is the best choice to go. Take metro Line 9 to Qibao station, at exit 2 and move to the South direction (along Qixin road) for a walk around 10 minutes. Spend a day around this place with several interesting view of riverside houses or restaurant with traditional Chinese food to enjoy.

For food lover, Nanxiang is the best place to taste original dumplings. For photographers, it is the best scene for street photography. Take metro line 11, stop at Nanxiang station with 15 minutes walk distance or bus nr. 62. As addition, before this town, there is Guyi park with a lot of lotus flower and classic housing from last centuries style.

Jingan Temple
Actually Jingan Temple is very well known among others touristic places, but to go inside this temple and see some traditional ceremony or architecture not many people know how and when can enter. See from the other side of the temple, it has pretty nice view surrounded by high modern buildings. Find this photography attraction at Line 2, Jingan temple station, exit 1.

The Jade Buddha Temple
Another temple in the crowd of Shanghai easily visited by metro Line 7, at Changshou station exit 5. There is a big Buddha statue in the temple can be observed.

SheShan Basilica Catedral
It is located on the hill of Seshan National Park, West Shanghai. Along the way hiking to the Church, there are several ancient towers can be seen. The church was built in 1983. In nice weather, the view from the hill may give you a nice landscape photographs.
To get there it will take up to one hour from central Shanghai by metro line 9, Seshan station, and continue by bus nr. 92 and stop at SheShan TianWenTai shelter.
